About The Author



Sallie L. Short is the second child of eleven born to John and Louise Robinson Bassett. She grew up on a small farm in Knoxville Tennessee. After she completed high school she took some business courses, and married. She is the mother of eight daughters and one son, “Deceased.” She was married many years, but after a long separation, and divorce she raised her children as a single mom.


Once her children were grown and self-supporting she began a career in writing. She had dreams of writing gospel music. However, instead she began writing poetry. Her poetry has been published in the Nashville State Tech Literary Book “Tetrahedra.” She received the “Editor’s Choice Award”, from National Library of Poets. She received the “Merit Award” from the International Society of Poets. She has been elected into the International Poetry Hall of Fame Museum. She has been featured in the “Marquis Who’s Who” Of American Women in 2000-2001.
